Sri Lanka’s wild life spreads over its reserves of 2930 square kilo meters & over 1000 square kilo meters of national parks – our national parks have magnificent settings.
Yala (ruhuna) Wilpattu, Galoya, Laggala and Minneriya, Uda Walawe, Wasgamuwa – bird sanctuaries at Kumana in the Eastern province, Wirawila and Bundala and Kalametiya in the Southern province.
Uda Walawe has about 500 elephants – they roam in herds of 50-100 at times with Baby Elephants. Some parks have bungalows as well as camp sites – bookings can be arranged with wild life conservation department to see elephants and other animals in their natural habitat – visitors are advised to travel in jungle green vehicles and similar coloured clothing.

Day 01: Colombo – Pinnawela – Giritale
Arrival and transfer to Giritale for overnight stay; en-route visit Pinnawela Elephant Orphanage. Evening enjoy a night safari in Habarana jungles or at Kaudulla national park.
Day 02: Giritale – Polonnaruwa – Giritale
Morning: visit Polonnaruwa ancient city.
Evening: visit Minneriya or Kaudulla national park to view wild Elephants roaming around. Overnight stay in Giritale.
Day 03: Giritale – Sigiriya – Habarana – Matale – Kandy
Morning: climb Sigiriya Rock Fortress. Afternoon: proceed to Kandy. En-route you can enjoy an Elephant back ride in Habarana jungles or at Sigiriya. Visit a Spice Garden in Matale and proceed to Kandy for
Day 04: Kandy
After B’fast at 7am visit Udawattakele (nature forest) by foot and return to hotel by 9am. City tour and sightseeing in Kandy city, visit temple of the tooth relic of lord Buddha. At 5.30 pm view the Cultural dance show for 1 hour which includes fire walking.
Overnight stay in Kandy.
Day 05: Kandy – Nuwara Eliya – Tissamaharama
After breakfast leave to Nuwara Eliya with sightseeing on the way. Drive through tea plantations; visit a tea factory & view Ramboda waterfall. Enroute visit the fruits and vegetables market in Nuwara Eliya and Ella waterfall. At 3pm proceed to visit Yala National Park in a separate jeep.
Overnight stay at Tissamaharama.
Day 06: Tissamaharama – Uda Walawe
At 6.30am leave to visit Bundala Bird Sanctuary with picnic breakfast.
At 2pm visit Uda Walawe National Park and view the feeding of baby elephants at the orphanage at 3pm.
Overnight stay at Uda Walawe.
Day 07: Uda Walawe – Galle – Colombo
After breakfast leave to Colombo via Galle. City tour of Galle and leave for departure flight – or continue stay.

A tour of the ancient city of Polonnaruwa is another highlight of this tour. Climbing the Rock Fortress in Sigiriya will keep you spellbound. Then visit a Spice Garden and arrive at the sacred city of Kandy. Visit the temple of the tooth, take a trek in the nature forest, view the Cultural Dance and enjoy a walk around the Kandy lake, shopping and sightseeing at leisure. Enroute to Nuwara Eliya, view the lush green tea plantations, visit a tea factory and taste a lovely cup of refreshing tea. A majestic waterfall in Ramboda will keep your camera clicking.
A safari jeep will take you inside the Yala National Park where you can see deer, peacocks, leopards, elephants and a host of wild animals that will thrill you beyond measure. Finally you are taken to the Bird Sanctuary at Bundala and the Uda Walawe National Park where you can see a variety of bird species, wild fowls, iguanas, wild buffaloes, deer and then proceed for a city tour of Galle before proceeding for your departure flight.
